Data Deletion Instructions

Draft of 11 October 2026

You can disconnect an Instagram account from SOGA, ask us to delete its data, or delete your SOGA account together with all of its data, at any time.

Disconnect your Instagram account in the app

  1. Open the SOGA app and sign in.
  2. Open the Instagram connection of your workspace.
  3. Choose Disconnect and confirm.

SOGA deletes the account's access token immediately and stops collecting data. Disconnecting does not delete the profile data, content and insights SOGA already collected: they stay in your workspace until you delete your SOGA account or ask us to delete them (see below).

Remove SOGA from your Instagram account

You can also remove SOGA from the apps and websites connected to your Instagram account in Instagram's settings and ask for your data to be deleted there. Meta then sends us a data deletion request, which we always honor: we disconnect the account, delete its access token immediately and delete the Instagram data we hold for it within 30 days. Meta gives you a confirmation code and a link to our data deletion status page, where you can see the request with that code.

Delete your SOGA account or an account's data

  1. Send an email to info.sogaapp@gmail.com from the email address of your SOGA account.
  2. Use the subject "Data deletion request" and say whether you want to delete your whole SOGA account or only the data of an Instagram account (give its username).
  3. If needed, we will ask you to confirm the request to protect your account.

We delete the requested data within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done. If you delete your SOGA account, all of its data is deleted.

What is deleted with your SOGA account

  • Your account: email address, display name, password hash and sign-in sessions.
  • Workspaces you own, including their members' access to them.
  • Connected Instagram accounts: access tokens, profile data, content, insights, reports and recommendations.
  • Drafts, scheduled posts and stories, and media uploaded to SOGA.

What is not deleted

  • Posts and stories already published to Instagram stay on Instagram; you can delete them there.
  • Records that the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, are kept only for the required period.
  • Deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 more days until the backups are overwritten.
  • Inactivity alone: we do not delete accounts or data because they have not been used for a while.
